The Genealogy Roadshow rides into Derry

Filming for RTÉ's The Genealogy Roadshow will take place in the Lumen Christi College, Derry, on Saturday, 23 March.

The historical and genealogical team – Turtle Bunbury, John Grenham APGI, and Susan Chadwick APGI – will be featuring some fascinating stories on the day, including:
  • A search for the ancestors of Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep
  • A farmer searches for a link to St Oliver Plunkett
  • A local family’s link to the first ‘Medal of Honour’ winner of WWII
As well as filming these elements of the show, the Roadshow team will be in the College all afternoon eagerly helping people find extraordinary stories in their family, as well as giving free advice on how to track down a family history.

Admission is free and all are welcome, but you need to confirm your intention to attend in advance. There will be two sessions of filming – at 12.30pm and again at 2.30pm – and you can come along for the whole event or the time of your choice. Call Ciara (from Derry) on 028/048 + 308 34046, or email.
